Thankfully it fit good. Was worried. Easy to install. Hardly noticeable under the car. Very pleased hope this helps others feel confident to purchase online.

I would definitely order from etrailer again as the communication was excellent and the hitch arrived timely and with all hardware needed to install. It's a nice clean but beefy looking hitch.

My brother and I installed this in little over 1/2 an hour in my driveway. We backed the car onto car ramps to raise the back some (easier to get underneath). Between having an extra set of hands to help, the car ramps to raise the vehicle some, and having a nice long socket extension (probably around 12"), we didn't even have to remove the exhaust from it's hangers. I wish everything went on like this hitch did (like it's supposed to.....). Thanks etrailer!

by:

Everything you said it was. The only problem I had was I could not get the muffler mount off the left rear side . the hitch still went smooth and easy. the same with the wiring harness . I still have to put in the 4 pole to 7 pole adapter I will do that as soon as the long mount gets here .
I put mine in without lifting the car, I'am 68 if I can any one should be able to do it or you should not be towing. Will send pictures ween I get long mount installed.

Sincerely
Jerry R

The product arrived UN-damaged with an excellent powder coat paint finish. the bolt on design worked perfectly but I must confess I had access to a car lift and had easy access to the exhaust and under carriage.
The prepared electrical harness purchased from Etrailer made for a simple installation. But we must consider that the 2011 Nissan Murano was trailer ready to receive the harness.
All went well and was done in 70 minutes.
Excellent product and an excellent value, I highly recommend to any one considering a trailer hitch, after market, installation.

by:

The team and selection at etrailer.com is excellent and the Draw-Tite Draw-Tite Ball Mount Trailer Hitch Ball Mount purchased installed easily and the tech support team answered my questions in a timely manner and provided the support needed. I will certainly search their inventory for my future trailer needs.

by:

I received the Curt trailer hitch for my wife's Murano as promised and installation was a breeze. The instructions for installation were easy to follow as well as those provided for the wiring harness. I highly recommend etrailer and would order from them again.

This product was as easy to install as advertised. I did try cleaning out the crud in the bolts as suggested but didn't have much luck (8 years of crud had collected). I had seen in an online video how someone used a tap to clean out the nut threads. I did this and it worked like a charm. Aside from the trip to the hardware store to get the proper size tap (12 - 1.25) it took about 30 minutes to install. As suggested in a video I also used a tie-down strap to help support the exhaust after removing it from the hangers (another tip spray these with WD-40 to aid in the removal).

Any vehicle that has more than 2 or 3 years driven in a northern climate will have crud and corrosion built up in the hitch attachment nuts welded into the vehicle frame. If the dirt/corrosion isnt too bad, a wire brush like # DW00254 and some spray lubricant works really well. For older vehicles a thread tap, like you mentioned could be needed.

Perfect fit and great quality. Would buy again. Don't waste your money on other "high end" name brands - buy this one instead.

Received the hitch on time for our 2013 Murano. My initial concern was if I could install the hitch without lowering the muffler system. My concern was unwarranted. I was able to install the hitch by myself and it only took me approx 1 hour. I located the hitch in place and blocked it in the install position so i could bolt it up with my hands free.
I would recommend the product and company to anyone

The hitch is used for our bike rack and we have had not problem. It was a good purchase

by:

This was an easy install!! The videos and instructions on etrailer’s website were very easy to follow. I didn’t drop the exhaust because I couldn’t get the holders out of the gaskets but I could easily work around that. Took less than 30 minutes to install & maybe 15 minutes to install the wiring for the lights.

by:

My order arrived 1 day before it was scheduled. Easy install.
Very pleased

by:

Love this hitch. Had if for a year and never had a problem with it. Installed it on my 2011 Nissan

by:

Package arrived on time. The hitch installation was easy it looks good on the car, however in order to install the hitch the factory tow bracket had to be removed.

by:

Wanted to share photos of my newly installed receiver hitch & wiring for
lights I received this past Friday for my new vehicle. I want to thank both
Natalie & Shawn for their professional assistance in choosing & receiving in
time to use this past weekend.
It's been a pleasure doing business with your team & e-trailer & will
recommend to many.

by:

Added this hitch to our SUV so we could transport our fat tire bikes to weekend trips. It was easy to install and works great. Very happy with this hitch.

by:

Very quick shipping, great price. Hitch fit perfectly. Easy install. Instructions said install would take 40 minutes. I easily did it by myself with no lift in that amount of time. My second great experience with etrailer.com.

by:

WOW!!! A perfect fit for our Nissan Murano CrossCabrolet . My girlfriend and I installed in in about 20 minutes. We did not remove the exhaust. I cleaned the holes on frame with a battery terminal brush, the hardest part. It's a little tight working around the exhaust, but easier than letting it down. We bought a cargo carrier to haul extra anything and have a bike rack. Also pull jet skis, about 1,500 lbs. a great solution.

by:

Fit perfectly to my Murano 2014. I didn't have to raise it. I used two jack stand to help me line up the hitch. The hardest part for me is removing the rubber holding the muffler assembly. WD-40 really helps though. Tip. If no one is helping you to hold the hitch, use two jack stand.

by:

Shipping was fast and etrailer customer service was on the ball at keeping me informed as well as making it simple to access videos on how to install the trailer hitch and the wiring.

I will definitely be using etrailer for all my future trailer needs.

by:

The Curt trailer hitch fits and looks great on my 2009 Nissan Murano. The unexpected problem with the install is 3 of the 4 needed bolt holes in the frame of the vehicle were corroded from road exposure, preventing threading of the bolts. To correct this, I purchased a 12mm -1.25 metric tap and T-handle tap wrench (from Menards for around $15 total). I did have to lower the exhaust assembly (per the instructions) to gain access to use the tap. With use of a spray lubricant, the tap cleaned out the threads without much difficulty. Just get it straight when you start and it works well. Took a total of about 90 minutes in all with the failed attempts to insert the bolts on the first try, then tapping of the 3 bolt holes.

by:

Good looking heavy duty hitch, VERY easy to install! On my 2012 Nissan Murano, I did NOT have to lower the exhaust. I gently pushed in the bottom skirt below the bumper and gained enough room to raise the right side into place after I'd placed the left side (drivers side) where it needed to be and got one bolt started. Seemed to work great. Wiring harness worked exactly as described, but you do have to disassemble a lot of the rear of the car, so be ready for that. Very happy with my purchase, 3rd time I've bought from eTrailer and will continue to do so. Keep it up, guys!

by:

Outstanding product, easy to install, worked as advertised. The hitch bolted right in and I did not have to drop the exhaust...very straight forward process. I also ordered and installed the wiring harness and 4 pin bracket, no issues; instructions were precise and on target. Great product and great service.

by:

Eric installed the Curt Trailer Hitch Reciever and the wiring harness in about an hour. His assistant drove me down to a local shopping area and pick me up when Eric was finished.
Very blessed, Jan

by:

The hitch was easy to install and functions extraordinary with my bike rack! I have used etrailer on 6 purchases and everyone turned out professional.

  • Receiver Hitch for 2013 Nissan Murano
Thanks for letting us help Tom. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13577 is a confirmed fit for all 2013 Nissan Murano models, including the CrossCabriolet. I wasn't able to find any published dimensions for the NISMO rear bumper you mentioned, but I did take a measurement of the # 13577. The distance from the top of the frame mounting brackets to the top of the receiver cross tube is 5-1/4 inches. You can use that measurement to estimate clearance by measuring down from the frame mounting...

This has a max towing capacity of 4,000lbs and max tongue weight of 400lbs, however, I always recommend looking in your owner's manual to verify your vehicle's towing capacity which you do not want to exceed. There are three hitches that are confirmed fits for your 2013 Nissan Murano, including the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit, # 13577. This hitch will fit on your Murano even if it is a CrossCabriolet, whereas the other two hitches will not. You will also need a wiring kit, and I recommend the ModuLite Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness # C59236 if your Murano is a CrossCabriolet, and the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118653, if it is not.

  • What Causes Tire Cupping on a Trailer Tires
That's tire cupping. When you have cupping wear on a tire it is from the tire bouncing on the road. You will want to check the air pressure in the tire and make sure you are running the maximum air pressure that is indicated on the tire. Then, I would recommend to have the tires and wheels balanced. Another thing to check is the suspension parts on the trailer. When suspension parts begin to wear and get loose it can cause the tire to hop when being towed and cause the cupping pattern.

In order for the method to work you will need to let the lube soak for around an hour and then vigorously clean with the brush. If this still does not work then you can use a 12 mm X 1.25 tap. You need to be extremely careful when doing so as you can cross-thread the weld nuts rather easily. Let me know if this does not work.
